Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was when she discovered a keyboard in her loft, and becoming fascinated by its music. Jan Oystein Aksnes was her father. The Aksnes family encouraged her to not to pursue music solely for pleasure or for the sake of development but instead, she must take it seriously. In the end, she began writing the music she composed herself. Bjork and Leonard Cohen are among her most favored songwriters. After her mother said that the songs she wrote might not be famous for her, however, but to encourage individuals to recognize their own value and impact on this world, she began playing them on stage. At age 6, she began to play the piano, and when she was nine began writing her own songs. The family did not be aware of this until she turned fourteen. Aurora was not a dream of her childhood. She claims that she simply enjoys writing songs. Music is her preferred method of feeling something.
