Morgan starred alongside other actors in the documentary film Safe Sex for Men and Women, which focuses on AIDS prevention as well as education. Some of the proceeds went to the American Foundation for AIDS Research. She is a member of the entertainment industry's AIDS Task Force. Morgan led numerous fund-raising initiatives for the illness and has testified before a Congressional Special Committee regarding AIDS Education. She is part of the Board of Governors of APLA and Board of Directors of Amfar. She was asked to take over the role of the former Surgeon General C. Everett Koop at AIDS-related events. Steve Bell, a news anchor, has also presented a AIDS Awareness Special. Ted Koppell asked her to make appearances on Nightline regarding AIDS. Morgan was nominated for the Emmys for Diane English's Murphy Brown special written especially specifically for Morgan. In spring, she was a guest as Joan Rivers on ABC's Your Money or Your Wife. Then, she began the summer season by appearing in Murder At The PTA Luncheon which was produced by Von Zerneck/Sertner. Also, it featured Cindy Williams and Marla gibbs. Morgan's next production brought her to Luxembourg to be a part of Harmony Gold's production of Sherlock Holmes and the Leading Lady with Christopher Lee and Patrick McNee. Morgan has also been the only actress to appear in the USA Network's psychological suspense-thriller and earned the highest ratings that the network has ever had.
