Kim Delaney, an American actress best known as the character Detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue series for which she received the Emmy Award. She is best known for her role as a character in All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. As the sole daughter of a high-ranking executive in the United Auto Workers and a housewife, Delaney grew up with her four brothers. As a child she was aspired to become an official in the courtroom. But after she graduated from high school, and moving to New York in the 1980s then she started modeling. In her teens the first time she appeared as an actress came in the soap opera of 1980 All My Children. Delaney appeared in a number of films, television movies and dramas after that. In contrast to her career success, her personal one is not as happy and prosperous. The accomplished actress battled alcoholism and had two marriages fall apart. In 2005, her custody was removed from her.
